For Teachers & Instructors
Keep posting on Instagram. We'll give your classes a home.
You don't need to build a website. Partner with Houston Yogis: get your classes found, let people reserve and pay in advance, and keep a real record of who's coming — so you're not collecting money at the door while you're trying to teach.
You stay on Instagram. We become the storefront your posts point to.
The problem
Your class lives and dies in the feed
Instagram is great for announcing. It's terrible for everything after.
| Your post disappears down the feed in a day | A permanent listing people can find any time |
| Only your own followers ever see it | A public calendar people browse on purpose — not just your followers |
| "DM me to reserve," then you lose track | People reserve and pay in advance, in one place |
| Chasing Venmo or cash on class day | Prepaid reservations, handled before you arrive |
| No idea who's actually coming | A real record of who reserved |
| Losing your week to posting and updating schedules | Email us your schedule once — we post and update it for you |
| Stitching together five tools that don't talk to each other | One place — website, calendar, tickets, and records |
| A clunky booking flow that loses students | Your students get a dead-simple reserve-and-QR |

Where we are right now
We're early, and we'd rather say so
Houston Yogis is a working platform with a small roster. The listings, the prepaid reservations, the QR tickets, the payouts and the instructor profiles are all built and running — a class posted today is live today. What we haven't finished building is the crowd.
So we're not going to sell you an audience we don't have yet. Plenty of platforms will. What we're offering instead is a founding position: your profile built before the directory fills, your classes visible while there's room to be seen, and a say in what this becomes while it's still small enough for that to mean something.
We're keeping the opening roster deliberately small. A calendar with four teachers who actually show up is worth more to the people reading it — and to you — than a hundred listings nobody maintains. That's not us making the best of being new. It's how we intend to run it.
The trade is plain: you get in before the queue and help shape the thing, and we get teachers worth building an audience around. If you'd rather wait until the room is full, that's fair too — the door doesn't close, and nothing here locks you in.
Run your numbers
See what you keep versus doing it yourself
Enter your class. Houston Yogis' recommended default is a small % of the ticket, taken out of your payout — shown here against the flat-per-ticket option, and against doing it yourself on a major ticket provider. At signup you pick from a short menu of fee models; these two are the ones most instructors compare.
| Per ticket | HY · 5% | HY · $1.50 flat | Major provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ticket price | $20.00 | $20.00 | $20.00 |
| Card processing | –$0.88 | –$0.88 | –$0.58 |
| Service fee | –$1.00 | –$1.50 | –$2.53 |
| You keep | $18.12 | $17.62 | $16.89 |
Houston Yogis offers a short menu of fee models you choose at signup; the recommended default is a small % of the ticket, absorbed from your payout (shown here at an illustrative 5% — final rates are set with you, and the pilot is currently free). The $1.50 flat per ticket is the alternative shown (the two cross over at $30); other options — a markup added on top, or a flat monthly — are covered at signup. Both models here include Square processing (2.9% + $0.30) and beat a major ticket provider (3.7% + $1.79 + 2.9%) at real class prices. US figures, Aug 2026; working estimates, not quotes.
Reclaim your time
The bigger number isn't fees — it's your time
Fees are the small number. The big one is your time. The average yoga instructor's hour is worth about $30 (studios pay $25–35 a class); even at the legal minimum it's $7.25. So the admin hours you lose carry a real price.
At an instructor's ~$30/hr, that's $150/week · $650/month · $7,800/year of your time.Even at minimum wage ($7.25) it's $36/week — and that's just the floor, not the real cost.
An hour of admin rarely costs just an hour. Stop to fix a booking link mid-morning and the whole day's momentum is gone — the real cost is the class you didn't plan, the student you didn't reach, the rest you didn't take. One admin hour can quietly eat the entire day.
Count each of those as a whole day gone. Hand it off and that's about 156 full days a year back — roughly 13 a month for people, rest, and the things that matter.
And a day isn't just time — every day carries overhead, whether you do one hour of admin or ten. The rent on the place you sit to do it. The light bill and utilities. The Canva subscription for the flyers. The coffee and the grocery run that got you to the desk. You pay a full day's overhead just to open the laptop. So read the days above as money, not only time: that's 156 days a year you'd stop funding overhead just to do admin — and reclaiming even one day a week is close to two months of rent back in your pocket, on top of the hours.
When Houston Yogis handles the posting, reservations, and payments, that time comes back. And honestly — whether or not you ever work with us — we hope this makes one thing plain: your time is precious. The best thing any of us can do is invest it in people and experiences that enrich our lives: our communities, the people we love, our animals and our homes, and real rest. If this helps you do more of that, we're glad.
What happens when things change
The honest "what if?"
No surprises on class day.
| You cancel your class | Give 24h+ notice — we tell everyone who reserved and refund them in full |
| Weather kills an outdoor class | You make the call by a set time; everyone's refunded |
| Someone cancels their spot | Full refund up to 24h before; none after — and we'll work with real hardship |
| Someone doesn't show up | No one's penalized — their prepaid spot can be honored at a future session; we sort it out case by case |
| Someone loses their ticket email | We resend it |
| Your class sells out | Reservations close at the capacity you set |
| Your class barely sells | You decide whether to run it — we bring the listing, the promotion and the coverage. We don't guarantee turnout and won't pretend to |
| A buyer disputes a charge | Square handles the dispute; Houston Yogis absorbs it — not your problem |
| No internet at the venue | Check people in by phone; an offline option once it's field-tested |
| You decide to leave | Future listings come down; the records you were already given stay yours. No lock-in |

A note from the founder
I hate working on computers and doing administrative work — which is exactly why I built this. I want teachers to focus on the thing they love, teaching, not on managing calendars, chasing payments, and posting schedules. My goal is simple: give you your time back, to spend on whatever makes you happy.
